Scandinavian Defense?

A game with a pleasing finish, played in the Norwegian capital Kristiania late last year.  We recall that the generally rare defense 1.e4 d5, the Center Counter Game, was used on a regular basis by Collijn at the 1st Nordic Congress in Stockholm some years ago.  Perhaps it is a Scandinavian speciality.  It had, of course, earlier been adopted by Anderssen against Morphy, and also served Blackburne on occasion.  In recent years it has become a favorite weapon of Mieses, who has used it to defeat Spielmann, Tartakower, Perlis, and Schlechter, among others, leading one to believe that this oft-criticized line may well be better than its reputation.
