A small 6-player tournament, sponsored by the Italian chess periodical L'Italia Scacchistica, was held in the Tuscan seaside resort of Viareggio during the second week of December. Local expert A. Batori took first prize, while Cenni of Bologna and Rosselli del Turco of Florence shared the second and third places. Bonanno, Benini, and Matteucci rounded out the field.
