On the 11th inst. a match over 16 boards was held at Leicester between teams from Middlesex and Yorkshire. Though the Yorkshire men, led by Mr. F.D. Yates, scored three wins and two draws in the games played on the first five boards, the Northerners were nevertheless forced to acknowledge themselves well beaten when the Middlesex squad, with Mr. R.C. Griffith at their head, tallied nine points from the remaining 11 games to take the contest by the score of 10-6. We present one game from the match, a fine victory on fourth board by Mr. Wainwright of Yorkshire over Mr. Michell of Middlesex.
